(Photo here)Jian (Trojan) Wu Jian graduated from Computer Science in 1991 and spent another 2 years in his post-graduate venture in Tongji. He was a Ph.D candidate Computer Science at University of Southern California, but became an IT consultant instead right after he obtained his MS degree. A die-hard Tongji 7-year veteran, Jian has vested his time and energy in building a global community for all Tongjiers. His notable contributions to TJUAAA include, among others, domain registration and website setup. Jian is a former president of TJUAAA.
Wei Wang, Ph.D., P.E. Wei graduated from Structural Engineering in 1984 and taught at Tongji for five years thereafter. Wei obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in 1995. He opened his own structural consulting firm two years ago while holding an adjunct professor position at NJIT. Wei’s spirit of love-giving has inspired the establishment of TJUAAA Assistantship.
Weihua Jin (金伟华), Ph.D., P.E. Weihua spent eight years at Tongji (80 to 88, BS/MS in Building Materials). He came to the US in 1994, obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University in 1998, and has worked as a bridge engineer ever since with PARSONS. He specializes in the design and development of ecological and sustainable building materials. His work has been covered by CNN, ENR and other medias. Weihua initiated the work of TJUAAA in New York. He also serves as the president of Chinese American Association for Engineering (CAAE).
Jianwei (Jim) Zhao (赵建卫), P.E. Jim graduated from Department of Structural Engineering in 1984. After graduation, he worked at the same department for another 4 years. Then he went to University of Ottawa to get a master’s degree. Jim has been instrumental in constructing TJUAAA, responsible for setting up its legal framework.
Qian (Eric) Wang Having spent over 12 years at Tongji, Eric is a pure Tongjier: 8 years of B.S. and M.S. study in Structural Engineering from 1986 to 1994 and 4 years of working experience at Tongji after graduation (including 2 years in Hong Kong) from 1994 to 1998. Eric came to the US in 1998 and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a M.S. degree in Construction Management in 2000. Eric is a founding member of TJUAAA in SF Bay area.
Yanbin (Rob) He (何雁冰) Rob graduated from Tongji in early 80’s with a BS and a MS in Urban and Transportation planning. He studied as a Ph. D candidate of Public Policy Analysis in University of Illinois at Chicago in 1992, and since then, has been successfully affiliated with academic institutions, consulting firms, and public agencies. His technical expertise includes transportation and land use planning, travel demand forecast modeling, air quality and conformity analysis, transportation data management and geographic information systems (GIS), traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and public policy analysis through teaching, researching, and professional practice. In addition, he is extensively experienced in project management, client service, and business development. His major achievements include publications, conference presentations, and awarded grants. He is now a Senior Transportation Planner with Michael Baker Jr. Inc.’s transportation planning group in Baltimore, Maryland. He also serves as the president of TJUAAA in Washington DC, while providing services to various groups in the area.

Canming (Ted) Chen (陈灿明) Ted graduated from Tongji in 1986 with a MS and a BS in Economics and Management and holds a MBA from Baruch College. He is now an Assistant VP at Deusche Bank, working as a Financial Analysis. Ted has taken a leading role in obtaining the not-gor-profit status for TJUAAA and contributed both time and money in entity registration.
Dingye Huang Prof. Huang is a former vice president of Tongji University and serves as the secretary general for Tongji University Alumni Association. A visiting scholar at the North Carolina State University in the 80’s, he has been very supportive of TJUAAA.
Guohua Gan Mr. Gan is the deputy secretary general for Tongji University Alumni Association and manages the Love Fund at Tongji. He offered to serve as an official liason between TJUAAA and Tongji. In addition, he manages our Assistantship at Tongji on behalf of TJUAAA.
